Shores House is set back off Rock’s quietest and leafiest residential road. It is surrounded by some of the largest Monterey Cypresses trees for which Rock is famous, providing an oasis of seclusion. Shores House has the best of both worlds. All of the shops are less than five minutes walk away: the butcher, baker, fishmonger, the deli are just up at the end of the road. Going in the other direction, there is a charming footpath that goes through a small wood and across two fields, bringing you out at Porthilly Cove in just twelve minutes.

Sitting in the gardens on a summer’s evening, you become aware of one overriding quality: peace. Although just half a mile from the buzzy seafront, there’s nothing to tell you just how close it really is.
